Freeware NVU Portable

I was eager to try this software. However for some reason I got an error message that the file was either in an unknown format, or damaged. I redownloaded it again, got the same result.

ImpressCMS 1.1.2

A good base to build your website on

Reviewer: fiammy - View all of My Reviews

Starting from the already solid foundation of Xoops, ImpressCMS has integrated many additional features that are commonplace now in community websites, such as Gravatar and OpenID support. The installation routine has been updated and extended, leading to less fiddling afterwards to get the site the way you want.

There are lots of extension modules from Xoops that can be used, along with several newly-written modules that make use of the revised architecture. A project is underway now to rewrite as much plugins as possible for that new architecture, which should lead to higher coding standards, more secure code and easier maintenance.

If you are thinking of setting up a site, I found the community also very helpful and knowledgeable.

A very good effort, with lots of interesting developments on the way for the 1.2 version. Attention Joomla, Drupal and Xoops: there's a new contender in town.
