Editor's Review

The image editor GIMP, originally developed for Linux, alienates Windows users at first. All the conventions for Windows interfaces are violated, e.g. a parent program window is missing.

But it’s worthwhile to get used to it. The selection and montage techniques are solid; GIMP offers all the selection tools you need, the retouching functions and the contrast adjustment meet high standards, and an up-to-date and illustrated manual helps you get started.

The free GIMP is more capable than some expensive products. Despite minor shortcomings, the installation is worthwhile in any case.

i dont know if i'm just stuck in my habits but i can't make myself like gimp. i think i was turned off by the interface at first. it is definitely amazing that it has so many capabilities and is for free, but maybe i just need to find some better plugins that make it a bit cooler and sleeker. only a three star from me but it my grow on me the more i play.

Very good tool

Probably one of the best tools for those who work with photos. The most important is that it is absolutely free. For most of us who is not an expert in using all capacities of the sophisticated software for processing and printing photos GIMP is the best alternative to the expensive products.

I Think this program is the best out of its kind, that I know of at the moment. I'm sure I will find something better 5 mins after I post this. But yah this is really easy to use and does its job absolutly perfectly. Highly reccomend.
